Flora and Fauna
By visiting you can see such different butterfly habitats, if you are quit and go on a hike in the mountains you have a good impression of the diversity of the butterflies .
Butterflies love the sun! This is why we find most butterflies on sunny southern slopes. Here, in the flowery hayfields of southern Slovenia.
The primorska region has the highest butterfly diversity in the country. Its limestone karstic ridges, dry grasslands, rich meadows and open woodlands , represent and ideal mix of diverse habitats for butterflies
Each butterfly species has its own specific habitat. To see some of the most extraordinary species, we have to go to extraordinary places. For example, we go to wet hay meadows where large fire butterflies live and to narrow mountain valleys for the large kingfisher butterfly, the large reflection butterfly and the red variegated fritillary. By visiting such different butterfly habitats, we get a good impression of the diversity of the Slovenian butterflies!
In the same places where most butterflies fly, we also find the most flowers. The extensive hay meadows, which are rarely fertilized and are mowed only once or twice a year, turn into a veritable carpet of flowers in the spring.

They can experience a modest and simply way of living, far away from the stress of the city

surrounded by flowers and butterflies !

She sat there on that flower as if she were a professional fashion model, patiently waiting for all the photographers to get their best shots of the trip. Then she flew leisurely back to the treetops.
